Greenheart Sustainable Home Builders

CASE STUDY

Transforming trust into visibility: elevating Greenheart through story, film, and strategy.

The Challenge

Leading Eco Builder struggling with Low Visibility

For 25 years, Greenheart had built exceptional sustainable homes with care and integrity. Their reputation was strong, but their visibility wasn't.

The passion, honesty, and genuine warmth of the team who love what they do wasn't being seen or felt online. With most new work coming through word of mouth, growth relied on chance rather than strategy.

As the market became more competitive, newcomers were making themselves heard with bold, polished marketing. Greenheart's quiet credibility risked getting lost in the noise.

They needed to turn reputation into reach.

The Solution

Video Strategy & Marketing to Boost Leads

We made it simple.

A clear message, showing who Greenheart are, what they do and why it matters.

Video brought the company and team to life, while strategic outreach helped connect with the right people. By the time prospects reached out, they were already interested, engaged, and a better fit.

  • Most people assume that building a house will be incredibly stressful, even one of the most difficult years of their lives. At Greenheart, that hasn’t been our experience. We’ve built strong relationships with our clients throughout the process, and in many cases, they say they almost miss us once the project is complete.

Greenheart was founded in 2000 by Bill and Malcolm, one an architect and the other a carpenter. Over the past 25 years, the company has grown steadily while staying true to its founding principles: building sustainably, creating a positive working environment, and delivering thoughtful, well-crafted projects that keep both clients and teams engaged.

Attention to detail sits at the heart of everything. From complex elements like airtight membranes to the finer points of finishing, every stage is approached with care and precision. That pride in craftsmanship is evident in the results. As one architect described it, the outcome can feel “exquisite”, with homes that are not only high-performing but genuinely a pleasure to live in.

For architects, Greenheart is a trusted partner. The team brings a collaborative mindset to every project, working closely to interpret and realise the original design intent. Their experience and technical understanding consistently elevate the quality of the final build.

The company operates across both design and build, as well as main contracting, with an even split between the two. This dual perspective brings a significant advantage. Designing with a clear understanding of how something will be built allows for better decisions, smoother delivery, and stronger outcomes.

Finn Storhoe, now a director, began his career as a bricklayer and now leads on masonry and foundation work. His journey reflects the culture within Greenheart, where people are given the time and support to develop their craft. There is a strong sense of pride on site, with teams who value quality, professionalism, and the relationships they build along the way.

What defines Greenheart’s work is the balance between architectural ambition and environmental performance. Every project is approached with a focus on longevity, efficiency, and detail. The team is highly trained and deeply engaged in their work, constantly checking and refining their approach to ensure the highest standards are met.

Greenheart is not focused on volume. Instead, the aim is to contribute positively, to be part of the solution rather than the problem. That means building better homes, supporting the people behind them, and continually pushing towards more thoughtful, sustainable construction.

The Outcome

Increased Prospects and Tender Invitations

"The films have given prospects a real sense of our company culture before we even speak. Since launching in December, we've seen a growing network of clients and prospects — and we've already had multiple tender invitations as a direct result."

Company Culture Film

While the Greenheart brand film tells the company’s story, this culture film introduces the team behind the homes. Highlighting the warmth, honesty, and expertise of Greenheart’s sustainable building experts, it gives prospects an authentic view of the people shaping high-quality, eco-conscious homes before they make contact.

  • It’s been quite heavy on jungle, drum and bass today. I almost got banned from another site for playing Doomfolk. I listen to punk, hip-hop, and I quite like house music. My kids just laugh at me when I say, “I’ll wait for the drop.”

Good afternoon, Greenhouse. Oh hello, hi!

The most Bristol thing about working at Greenheart? I’d say it’s probably the postcode — Montpellier. It’s such a cool place to work. Bristol is a very progressive city, so it’s easy for a company like ours to fit in here.

What I really love about Greenheart is how diverse the team is. Everyone brings something different, and yet we come together naturally. The team is everything here, and over the years we’ve worked hard to create the right atmosphere on site — different from other builders. We attract a slightly different kind of builder.

I go to Bath College on Tuesdays, and I spend the rest of the week on site. I started with Greenheart two weeks ago, helping out with airtightness from day one. I got on with people immediately. It’s a close-knit, family-like company. I’d say about 30% of my time is spent on site, and there’s always a dirty mug waiting for me somewhere — little things like that just make it feel homey.

My first day was on the Elmore Court treehouse project, which was a fantastic place to start. Being taken out to site gave me a real sense of the product, which isn’t something you always get in my role. It was an amazing experience.

You can ask as many questions as you like, and people are happy to help. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and generous with their time and knowledge. It’s not just a regular building site — everybody at Greenheart genuinely cares about what they do, and it shows in the results.

What’s really made me feel at home here is the people. There’s a sense of welcome, open-mindedness, and kindness. The work ethic and attention to detail are inspiring. People here don’t just want to get the job done; they want to get it done right. Everyone I work with is supportive and approachable. Issues are handled well, and the relationships and management make the work really enjoyable. I genuinely love what I’m doing — if it wasn’t for the people, I wouldn’t stay.

Best dressed on site is probably Twi, peak summer, in his short shorts and crop top.

My favourite tool? The string line. One of the best inventions is the tape measure, and my favourite tool would be my wood planer. And no one can make a coffee for me the way I like it — though he’s somewhat of a coffee connoisseur too.
